FAQ
Q: What is handloading? What is reloading?
A: As it pertains to metallic and shotshell ammunition, handloading is a catch-all term that simply means “manually creating ammunition from base components – a case (brass or shot hull), propellant (powder), primer, and projectile(s).” Reloading is simply handloading using a previously used case. This is attractive to many shooters, as used cases are somewhat easy/inexpensive to come by (sometimes free), thereby making reloading more economical than buying factory ammunition, in many instances.

Reloading is typically a bit more involved than is handloading using all new components as certain considerations and preparations must be taken into account when using previously used cases. So, reloading is handloading, but handloading doesn’t necessarily imply reloading. On this site, you may see the terms used interchangeably when it is appropriate to do so.

Q: Why should I take a class from you as opposed to taking someone else’s class?
A: We believe that we teach handloading in a way that will convey the widest array of knowledge and expose you to the widest array of equipment in an easily digestible package–you will retain what you learn!

We are confident that you will learn and retain more per unit of time in our classes than in any other class. Starting in our Introduction to Reloading class and beyond, you will learn to set up and use single-stage, turret, and progressive presses.
You will learn to set up nearly every type of die, rifle, and handgun. You will learn on-press, handheld, and bench priming. You will learn to use several types of powder measure (bar vs. cylinder, etc.), both cases activated drop and conventional. And so on.
Q: What do I need to bring to my class?
A: You don’t need to bring anything to the class other than a well-rested brain, ready to learn. We supply all tools, training materials, reloading components, and accessories. If you would like to bring your own brass, die set, powder measure, or small tool in to discuss with the instructor and possibly use in the class, please feel free to do so. You *will not* be allowed to load with any primers or powder that you brought to the class, so please leave those items at home.
